Just north of Downtown Los Angeles sits a studio nestled in the hills of one of the cities oldest neighborhoods. A sonic farm producing organic/electronic fruit in the tradition of Jamaican sound systems and underground punk labels.

Future Street Records is an oasis for a tribe of musicians, graphic artists and writers to grow and sell their wares in the modern market place.

With the aim of providing a creative space for its member’s collaborations and explorations, FSR was founded in 2003 by Alex Painter and Joe Fulginiti to facilitate their first release, Onostatic’s Revelations.

Following that release they produced an EP for Los Angeles based singer/songwriter Megan Jacobs as well as producing tracks for film and television working with licensing companies The Ant Farm and AD Entertainment.     

     The latest release, A self-titled debut Alex Painter and The Joyful Process, fuses alternative soul, funk, samba and reggae into an uplifting anthem of love. Songs from that release can be heard in the upcoming movie Love and Other Four Letter Words and the WB’s Reaper. Currently collaborating with the artist collective Blue Chips and Vegas Car Productions on its graphic designs, FSR has a handful of exciting projects in production gearing for release in 2008.......................................Stay Tuned!
